Sony EX-1/EX-3 and Final Cut Pro, What’s Your Workflow?
02/20/2009, Thomas Tomchak, SuiteTake
As a side note, don’t cheap out on your hard drives, especially the big ones that are the final destination for your camera originals. A good drive does not cost that much more then a cheap one. Just ask yourself how much your shot day is worth, and if you would be willing to pay to reshoot everything. I highly recommend buying drives from G-Technology.

Professional Photographer Jim Jordan Only Trusts G-Tech to Store His Work
02/11/2009, Steven Shaw, Studio Photography
Backing up all of your
images is extremely important. I’ve had
several incidents where I’ve lost images
and had to learn the hard way. Jordan
now works with G-Technology.com.
G-Tech has high-performance external
hard drives that are fast. They have
6-, 12-, and 16-terabyte RAID storage
devices that are amazing, as well as
2- and 3-terabyte drives that are small,
compact, look great, and come with
me on all my shoots, he says.

The titular 'Q' refers to Quad Interface. At the back you'll find no less than Mini-USB 2.0, twin FireWire 800 and a single 400, in addition to eSATA, which is of course the fastest of the lot.

The G-DRIVE mini is a MacBook Pro user’s dream come true…as far as external storage is concerned anyway. Massive & Mobile External Storage
01/16/2009, Norman Berns, reelgrok
Even if it weren't gorgeous, this drive would still be an essential piece of equipment. Maybe overkill for a production office, but right at the heart of any editing room. But it is really that good-looking. Housed in a titanium casing (made to look at home perched on any Mac Pro), the entire line of drives could teach elegance to Apple. I want this designer to do my living room. Or at least my luggage.

G-Technology, the same folks that made a portable hard drive that still worked after being run over by a truck, have come up with a Raid-0 solid state drive that screams. Data transfer rates top 60MB/sec write and 75MB/sec read speeds when using FireWire 800. Using eSATA, it blazes up to 195MB/sec.

The MacReviewcast #184: BBEdit, FotoMagico, G-DRIVE, Pathfinder, Invoice 3
10/1/2008, The MacReviewCast
As good-looking as the G-Drive is, its best view is from behind. In addition to the obligatory USB port, it sports FireWire 400 and 800. The combination of the FireWire 800 interface plus the 7200 RPM drive make the G-Drive run circles around my other portable hard drives. (see the 13:35 minute mark for the

Hard Drive Review - G-RAID is G-Great!
10/29/2008, Michael T. Smith, Diffusion
By far the best and most reliable portable drive I’ve used is the G-Raid series by G-Technology. I have 4 of them, some are 4 - 5 years old, and they all still work great. Internally, G-RAID has two 3.5″ SATA drives that are striped together using RAID level 0 for speed. The stripe management is all handled inside the box.
